It’s Always Cloudy In Chicago

The Dynamic Duo Have Other Friends

These people are recurring characters in our lives and we love them very very dearly. They make the Dynamic Duo’s world go round.

SOVA. He is our nearest and dearest. He’s never around so he is like the Charlie to Our Angels (because Lily and I are perfect angels). About 75% our text message in-boxes are SOVA. We’re in constant contact like that. He’s a cool cat. We look forward to his visits.

CHARLIE. One of our main gays. I have known him since he dated girls (aka for a long time). He is the nicest boy in the world and he’s also one of the biggest stoners ever. He’s so funny and super sweet. We sing Fergie and Diddy together. He’s a good time.

P.J. Another one of the main gays. He is fierce and fabulous. He’s the one that is of age, so he’s the one I’m always with. He’s pretty much my soul mate.

ALYSSA & KARLY. With me, we are a combo– you can’t have one without the others. It’s just doesn’t work like that. These two girls are my best friends from home. We get into random misadventures and just enjoy each other’s ridiculous-ness. To understand our friendship is to watch and actually enjoy the movie Hot Rod. We’re just that intense. Love these bitches.

ANA: She is probably one of my best friends since kindergarten. We’ve gone to school together all our lives. We go out from time to time and I usually refer to her as “my little commie” since she is Cuban.

MARK: He’s like my brother except that we’re not at all related. We get into drunken hijinks together both in the city as well as in the suburbs since he lives the town over. Also, I’m enamored with one of his best friends, Goggles.

ANTHONY: He is my cousin. We are ridiculously close and he lives in California, but we talk constantly. I’m like his personal consultant. He’s probably the funniest person I know. We look exactly the same, but I’m pretty sure he has boy parts (I don’t like to think about it). He’s like my older brother and probably knows me the best out of anyone. We’re totally the black sheep in our family. We’re not the football. star or the cheerleader or the academic genius at all. We’re just ridiculously cool and that should be enough. We’re about equal when it comes to superficial-ness and self-centered-ness.

GRETCHEN: She’s the Shiloh to my Maddox and a dear friend to Lily and I both. We met her in school, but she lives in Michigan now. She’s super spoiled and super fabulous. She has the most expensive taste this side of Lake Michigan. And we love her for it. She’s the best shopping partner a girl can have… when a girl has money to spend. She frequents Chicago a lot (not as much as I would like, but a lot nonetheless). She’s is definitely my super twin.

Carrie. One of my absolute best friends. Always there to lend a shoulder, some advice, and to read Cosmo articles with. We’re pretty much Sex and the City, except there are only two of us. Which is okay… we are all we need. We met at work almost three years ago, and have been very close ever since.

Christian. My boyfriend. We’ve been together almost three years. We know each other backwards and forwards, and he is by far the least jealous person. This is probably the reason why our relationship works; he understands that I like going out and having (or trying to have) guy friends, and I know that practically all of his friends are girls. He also doesn’t want to have sex as much as I do, which keeps me from acting like a ridiculous nymphet.

Meredith. My roommate, and a good friend of both Audrey’s and mine since our freshman year. We all lived in the same corner of our dorm floor, then on the same floor sophomore year (with Mer and me together from here on out), then the same building junior year. Then Audrey moved away. That bitch. Mer makes appearances with us on our going out nights every once in a while, but not as frequently as we’d like. We’re working on it, though.
